The tables generated on this web page are only estimates that are calculated assuming that the airplane follows an ideal great circle air route.  (Please read the Introduction to the Chai Air Times for further explanation.)  We advise to either take a PC laptop or tablet on board and use the Chai Air Times "Pro" Program or use one of the options listed below during your actual flight.

 

 We are happy to announce our "Advanced Interface" that provides key features of the "Pro" program such as route editing that can also be used on board an airplane in real time if there is wifi. It is basically a free webpage version of our app for Android and therefore should work on IPhones except for kml route file uploads. (N.b., GPS geolocation is not available using the airplane's wifi.)

 

We are also happy to announce the availability of (1) a simple free Android app that makes sure you are davening what and when you are supposed to as long as you can geolocation using GPS, and (2) Our free Android app that used to be sold via Google Play. (Contact me for more information.)


Warning  

 Some airlines, including El Al, use airplanes 

  equipped with windows that block daylight. Travelers are easily fooled into sleeping through the entire morning!


Announcements  

 Elul 5782: We were informed that El Al's onboard zemainim have started to work properly as long as the passenger chooses current time option (not origination or destination time). If those zemanim appear to be reliable, they should be used instead of the ones calculated on this website. Likewise, it becomes a clear preference for shomrei mitzvos to book flights only with El Al.

We wish them success in this important endeavor. Other airlines should be also encouraged to provide the same service at least on routes to and from Eretz Yisroel.
